The Buy Less Project

The mission of The Buy Less Project is to advocate for mindful consumerism by encouraging individuals to make thoughtful, sustainable fashion choices. We aim to reduce the environmental and social impacts of fast fashion by promoting a culture of buying less, buying better, and embracing a more sustainable approach to clothing consumption. Our mission includes putting funds towards cleaning the oceans and rivers through other non-profits. Through education, advocacy, and community engagement, we strive to empower individuals to make informed decisions that benefit both people and the planet. Together, we can create a more sustainable future for fashion and contribute to a healthier planet.

NON-PROFIT PARTNER ~ THE OCEAN CLEANUP
Every year, millions of tons of plastic enter the oceans, primarily from rivers. And the plastic that’s afloat within the oceans isn’t going away by itself. To effectively solve the problem, we need to both halt the trash flow from rivers, and remove legacy plastics from the oceans at the same time.

The Ocean Cleanup, a non-profit organization, is developing and scaling technologies to rid the world’s oceans of plastic. They aim to put themselves out of business once the oceans are clean.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS
As a 501(c)3 non-profit entity, The Buy Less Project is governed by a Board of Directors. The Board is comprised of unpaid volunteers who oversee the strategic planning, budgeting, and finances. The Executive Director of The Buy Less Project reports directly to the Board and works closely with the Board in all strategic matters.
